The 2011 Preakness Stakes was the 136th race made by the Preakness Stakes. The race took place on May 21, 2011 and was televised by the NBC television network. It started around 6:18pm at the Pimlico Racecourse.
It was Shackleford who became the victor in the 136th Preakness Stakes. Shackleford definitely made Dale Romans (Trainer) look good on Saturday at Pimlico Racecourse and to 107,398 horse race fans and horseracing enthusiast. Shackleford bounced back in two weeks from his loss to Animal Kingdom in the Kentucky Derby 2011.   Shackleford placed 4th in the Derby while Animal Kingdom took the Triple Crown. But in the Preakness Stakes, things were turned around as Shackleford left Animal Kingdom in the track.
